COOKS CO~OP

HELLO, MEMBERS AND YET-TO-BES…

Please excuse the brevity - it’s moving week! Let’s get down to business. Read below for all the details.

ORDERING IS OPEN FOR Thursday (all products) or Saturday (ambient only) Pickup

Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes, Falls Farm

ORDERING THIS WEEK - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!

  1. Everyone’s groceries will be ready for pickup from 1:30pm Thursday.

  2. All bulk items will be prepacked. You can still bring your jars and transfer out of the bags if you want.

  3. You can order ambient, cold & frozen products if you pick up Thursday. All cold & frozen MUST be picked up Thursday.

  4. You can order only ambient products if you’re picking up Saturday.

HOW YOU CAN HELP DURING MOVING WEEK

1. Help Us Move

Dom, our moving coordinator, will email everyone to organise jobs, helpers and vehicles. We’re looking for members to help on Friday, but mostly Saturday.

Please also head to #the-move to stay in the loop.

2. Order

Please do still order this week, even if you’re going out of your way to pick up Thursday rather than Saturday. If you can’t help move us, ordering is very helpful - less product for us to shift to The Shed.

3. Tell Us When You’re Picking Up

Please indicate in Row 6 of the sheet whether you’re picking up Thursday (all products), Saturday (ambient only), or are away (and so not ordering at all).

SEQ Food Summit

A SPECIAL DISCOUNT FOR OUR CO~OP

Our friends at Food Connect Foundation are hosting this biennial event, which gathers all levels of the food system (families, farmers, chefs, government and more) for three days of collaboration and action towards a better food future for our region.

The Summit starts the day after our move! To read more about the program, visit here.

There are two social evening events this year. On the Sunday evening, grab a bite and settle in for three short films on food, culture and community (including one on fellow Food Connect Shed tenant, Blind Boy Brewing) at Reel Food Stories. Monday evening, MC, writer and podcaster Dani Valent hosts Eat Drink Think: three authors with cracking recent books on food (Sam Parish, Chefs Eat Brisbane; Shika Finnemore, Eat Brisbane; Lucy Ridge, Fed Up) joined by two local farmers, Phil from Loop Growers and Jacki Hinchey of Blue Dog Farm. Food from Ta'ameya and Saucy Wench.

To welcome Cooks Co-op members to the fold, Food Connect Shed is offering $5 tickets to both events with the code COOKSCOOP.

The List

NEW PRODUCTS & MINIMUMS TO MEET

Please grab some of these in your shop this month and join in on Slack #product-suggestions and #product-reviews to shape our stocking decisions:

NEW…

We’re starting to experiment with some bulk frozen fruit! So far so good. Wild Blueberries are first on the list, with a 25% saving compared to 1kg retail packs. We also now have Maffra's Stockman's Cheshire. Btw we’re taking Maffra’s Red Leicester off the list unless anyone complains (London 1856 version is just so much better). Plus, new season Pomelos are here!

HELP US MEET MINIMUMS ON…

Maccagno Biellese - a signature cheese from the Biellese Alps. Milky, lightly sweet, buttery… it’s a 2.2kg wheel so let’s all jump in and get this one across the line.

ENOUGH FROM US, TIME TO SHOP

Hope to see you next week for the move.

Members: please don’t forget to indicate in the sheet whether you’re picking up Thursday or Saturday or if you’re away.

Non-members: Reply to this email and we’ll prioritise you for a trial at The Shed!

xx Ange on behalf of your Co-op Crew.
